Phil's Salvation Testimony
I was raised in a Christian home and an independent Baptist church in Cicero, just outside of Chicago. At five years of age, I wanted to be saved and prayed the sinner's prayer. But because I was placing my faith in that prayer instead of the person of Christ, I was not saved. At the age of nine, I saw a film about hell that made me realize my doubtful and desperate condition. When I got home that night, lying on my bed fearing death and hell, I asked the Lord Jesus to save me, placing all my hope for heaven in Him.
